When we are faced with adversity we always have a choice as to how we respond. Do we use our blade in anger, or to cut carefully through the scrub blocking our path in order to move forward? Do we choose to become cold, or do we respond with compassion that arises precisely because we ourselves have been tested?
This week’s reading tells us that if we opt to continue to see beauty; to give what we can, where we can; to create; it is this that will lead us through to the other side of adversity and into new beginnings. There is great strength in tender choices.
